Fathers Haven Children’s Home is a life-long project of Dominion Life Ministries International to cater to the less privileged children in Africa. The foremost one is underway in Kisii County, Kenya, East Africa.
We have, since 2008, been providing shelter, clothing, food, health care, and education to children, now numbering 31 and counting.
It is our mandate at The Father’s Haven Children’s Home to identify, shelter, care for, and empower these children to be who God has called them to be. Our world needs it.
Kenya Project Background
Child Rights and Protection in Kenya
Kenya is among the states that have ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and have undertaken steps to pursue policies aimed at the progressive realization of those rights. Despite global and national recognition of children’s rights, We still face many challenges such as poverty, limited access to drinking water, access to healthcare, violence against children, child marriage, and female genital mutilation (FGM)—This is confirmed by a 2020 UNICEF survey (https://www.unicef.org/kenya/child-protection).
It is only right as a global church to make an attempt at providing equitable opportunities to as many children in Kenya as God allows.
